Wanaka and Mount Aspiring

Surrounded by majestic mountains Lake Wanaka causes one to take a deep breath and relax. Its crystal clear waters lap gently on a pebbly shore overshadowed by willows. The landscape all around is simply stunning – get some altitude in the Mount Aspiring National Park, or on one of the ski fields, and you’ll see what we mean!! Wanaka offers the visitor a Four Season experience, from the snowy winter wonderland, to springtime, bringing with it bursts of blossom, the heady breathless days of summer and the tapestry of colour of the autumn. This is the Queenstown of yesteryear, a laidback little brother to its glamorous neighbour. Rustic stone cottages reveal its gold rush past, whilst high country farming and tourism now sustain the local economy.
