Description

Churchill is one of the best places in Canada to witness the Northern Lights and each winter our friends at Frontiers North offer the following program to experience this phenomenon. This unique and exciting adventure is quite different from any other viewing experience. Glide across the snow-covered tundra on a sled pulled by a team of dogs, feel the sun on your face and wind in your hair during an interpretive snowshoeing afternoon, experience the excitement of the Hudson Bay Quest, an authentic 400 km dogsled race…

Day 1: Winnipeg
Arrive in Winnipeg. Transfer to your hotel. In the evening you will meet with your tour hosts from Frontiers North Adventures

Day 2: Winnipeg
Spend time in Winnipeg by visiting the Manitoba Museum and Planetarium. Here, participate in an introductory photography clinic and receive tips on how to best capture the aurora. Take part in an interactive program that illustrates the traditional lifestyles of the Inuit people and view award-winning dioramas.

Day 3: Churchill
Depart Winnipeg in the morning and fly to Churchill. Participate in a tour of the town and area upon arrival and visit to the Eskimo Museum. The museum contains one of Canada’s finest collections of Inuit carvings, kayaks and artifacts dating from pre- Dorset, Dorset, Thule, and modern Inuit times.
The evening consists of a dinner at the Hudson Bay Quest banquet.

Aurora Borealis is without doubt one of the most amazing natural phenomena that one can ever see.  The dancing lights in the northern sky, changing as you watch, resemble a coloured net curtain blowing on a summer breeze.
