Atlantic Canada - Newfoundland, Labrador
The Provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick make up the area known as Atlantic Canada an area of beauty and history, both recent and not so recent in geological terms. Accessed by international flights from London (6 hours to Halifax) this area is a mere stones throw, with so much to offer. The funnel shape of the Bay of Fundy results in one of the largest tidal ranges in the world. The extraordinary geological history of the Island of Newfoundland has bequeathed one of only two areas in the world where the earths mantle is visible at the surface and the equally extraordinary sight of Western Brook Pond an inland fjord. Perhaps take a trip whale watching and view some spectacular icebergs.
