Some holiday packages mean you have to stick to an agenda, however, if you are the type of person that has their own firm ideas of what they want to do or see while still having the expertise of a holiday specialist to guide you, then a bespoke holiday is one of your best options.

Globe

Why choose Experience Holidays?

With so many companies out there offering bespoke packages, it can be difficult to know which is the best one to choose, however, here are some of the reasons you should select Experience Holidays to help plan your next vacation.

We are experienced

Holidays are our passion and we have decades of experience in the tourism industry. We know the best locations, and we can work with you to help create the ideal itinerary to help maximise your experience no matter where it is in the world.

We use our expertise to work with you to help create a holiday experience that will be unlike any other, and tailored to meet your personal choices.

Responsible Travelling

An increasing amount of people are becoming more aware of responsible travelling or eco-tourism. Out of our desire to protect the environment where possible, Experience Holidays works with companies that are dedicated to preserving their local environments wherever they can, while still enabling these countries to benefit from the many bonuses that a strong tourist trade gives them.

We make it personal

While package holidays have their place, they often lack the personal touch and you are often just another customer. With a bespoke holiday, everything is about you. It is personalised to meet your needs and to enable you to enjoy the experiences that you want.

If you need guidance, our expert staff can give you some direction to help maximise your time away and create memories you’ll never forget.

One of the world’s most popular holiday destinations is California. Tourism adds billions to the local economy every year, and visitor’s figures continue to increase; if you are considering a holiday to California, here are some of the key sites you might want to include on the itinerary:

Alcatraz – California is home to the infamous Alcatraz prison. The island became legendary after three inmates escaped never to be seen again, and it has been a subject of fascination ever since.

Kings Canyon – as well as its stunning scenery, the famous national park is known for its wildlife and plant life. The Canyon is home to more than 200 different types of birds as well as black bears, big horn sheep and over seventy different types of mammal, including squirrels and mule deer.

Yosemite National Park – from spectacular waterfalls to glaciers and meadows, the Yosemite National Park has to be one of the United States’ most striking parks. It is a mecca for countless different types of wildlife and animals, including birds, mammals and insects.

The park is also famed for its plant life and ecosystems, and if you feel like a real challenge, consider taking part in one of the mountain hikes.

Lake Tahoe – whether you like winter sports, boating, skating, or simply want the chance to enjoy the nightlife, Lake Tahoe offers a huge variety of experiences to the tourist. Major landmarks include the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion, Vikingsholm, the Martis Peak Fire Lookout and its breath taking views, and the stunning lakes and scenery of the Inspiration Point Vista.

These are just a few of the highlights that California has to offer. To find out more about California and how we can help you tailor a unique package, call Experience Holidays on 01323 446550 or info@experienceholidays.co.uk

Honeymoon

With the excitement of the wedding and all the details that need your attention, the honeymoon can often slip down the agenda. It is the moment when you can relax (or otherwise if that is what you want!), have some time to yourselves and reflect on the memories of the day itself. Meticulous planning is required to ensure the honeymoon is as memorable as the wedding.

The key is to start planning early and to tap in to the knowledge of an expert for your chosen destination.  It will cost no more and will ensure that you are in the right place at the right time. There is nothing worse than looking forward to a safari of a lifetime, only to arrive and find that the rains are in full swing, making travel difficult (if not impossible) and the wildlife has dispersed to inaccessible areas.  The popular destinations often include time spent on a beach and timing can be critical. Swimming in the sea along with large quantities of seaweed (as happens in some popular beach resorts) is not the experience most would relish.

The sooner someone is working on your honeymoon, the sooner you will have the options to consider and decide upon. We will ensure that you are not rushing from one place to another, with no time to see what attracted you there in the first place. We will work to your budget and time constraints and will have suggestions as to the type of accommodation available and what activities are on offer. We will also advise the lodges and hotels where you stay that you are newly-weds, which often brings a few treats.

There are often special packages for honeymooners and your advisor will factor these in to your itinerary, if appropriate.

A number of our recent newly weds who have already set up home, have opted for their friends and families making contributions towards their honeymoon rather than struggling to find wedding gifts that they have not already got at home.  Experience Holidays offers this service at no extra cost.

So get in touch with Experience Holidays on 01323 446550 or email info@experienceholidays.co.uk and start working together with our experts to ensure that your bespoke, tailor made honeymoon itinerary is truly as important and memorable as your wedding.

California’s Redwood Highway

Mention California and immediately San Francisco, the Big Sur, Hollywood, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and Death Valley may come to mind.

But there’s another California that lies to the north of the Golden Gate just waiting to be explored; a landscape of rugged coastlines, towering forests, sparkling lakes and rivers – a California which is unspoiled, uncrowded and relatively undiscovered.

The Redwood Highway connects the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border and passes through some of California’s best unspoilt quaint towns, scenic coastline, mountains, family owned vineyards and wineries and gourmet local organic food.  And, as its name implies, you will find yourself amongst the magnificent California Redwoods, the tallest trees in the world, driving along secluded scenic roads, far removed from the busy interstates.

The Highway  which started  in the 19th century as a patchwork of stagecoach  and logging trails connecting the rural communities scattered throughout the forests of the north coast, began to attract tourists after the Golden Gate Bridge opened in 1933,

For outdoor enthusiasts the area offers incredible walking opportunities, kayaking, river rafting, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. In addition to The Redwoods National Park and Point Reyes National Seashore, the route passes through numerous state parks and reserves.

Include the Highway as part of your holiday to Northern California or continue up the coast in neighbouring unspoilt Oregon.
